What is Xenical?

Xenical is a medication that is used to help people lose weight. Studies have shown that Xenical can help people lose more weight than if they were dieting alone. This weight loss drug is intended for adults over the age of 18. It is required to follow a reduced calorie, low fat diet when on Xenical.

How does Xenical Work?

It works by blocking the absorption of fats. This means when you eat food, you will not absorb the fats which are consumed. In a nutshell, it leaves behind the carbohydrates and proteins for your calories, while passing the fats through your system unused. This means you are not gaining calories from fat.

What does it do to the body?

Xenical can help a person to lose an extra 50% body fat when used with a calorie-restricted diet. Xenical reduces approximately 30% of dietary fat which is consumed. To get the most from this medication, one should consume a low-fat diet. It is recommended that the diet be rich in fruit and vegetables, and that the daily intake of protein and carbohydrate is distributed equally over three meals.

Xenical capsules are taken one capsule up to three times daily. They should be taken immediately before or up to one hour after meals.

If you have a low fat meal or skip a main meal there is no need to take Xenical; it only works when you have eaten a meal containing dietary fat.

Xenical should be used alongside a low-fat, calorie-controlled diet to produce the greatest effects and reduce adverse effects.

When combined with diet and exercise, Xenical is usually effective in aiding weight loss. Weight loss should not be rushed and crash diets should not be used. Slimming should be viewed as a steady process in order to do it in a healthy way and increase the chances of the weight staying off. A realistic target is around 1lb per week though this can vary from person to person depending on the situation.
